Jonathan Saruk is a producer and director of photography who has produced video content for the likes of ARTE, ABC News (USA), UNHCR, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, BBC, Al Jazeera, The Great Big Story, ORF, and 3SAT and has worked on corporate productions for Siemens, S.A.P., Sony Ericsson, E.ON, and Unibail-Rodamco.
He is available as director of photography, cameraman, videographer, or local producer for your editorial, corporate or commercial project. Jonathan is available locally in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, but can also travel for international assignments. He has experience working in some of the worlds most difficult environments including Afghanistan, Congo (DRC), Sierra Leone, Yemen, and Gaza and has undergone hostile environment training, medical training and is fully insured. Jonathan is a native English speaker and speaks working Swedish.

BIoGRAPHY
Jonathan runs Blake Street Films AB, the Malmö, Sweden based partner of Denver's Fox Tale Films, providing full film production services, specializing in documentary feature-length films, video journalism and branded content. The company’s first feature-length documentary, HONDROS, premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival and received the prestigious audience award. Jonathan served as a cameraman on HONDROS and was recently director of photography on his first feature-length documentary, Truth Detectives, which was commissioned by WDR/ARTE. The film aired in March of 2018 on ARTE.
Jonathan began his career in photojournalism and has had his images published in a broad selection of publications including The New Yorker, The Sunday Times Magazine, and Neon. He was a Featured Photographer with Reportage by Getty Images. Jonathan's first monograph, The Forbidden Reel, was published by Daylight Books in 2014, was selected as one of the year's best by Time Magazine. You can follow Jonathan on Instagram here. A graduate of the International Center of Photography where he received a scholarship from The New York Times Foundation, Jonathan also holds an M.A. in print journalism from New York University.
